INSPIRATION FOR NTUNGO NOBLE

BACKGROUND

THE CONCEPTION OF NTUNGO NOBLE began after a visit to Mwambezi village in Zambia in 2016 by one of the founding Directors who brought back some heart-wrenching stories. After sometime of heart searching and brainstorming, the founders concluded that they could not ignore the plight of the people of Mwambezi village and others in Zambia and think that they are all fine. Doing so would be synonymous to committing a crime. Please see the Inspiration below. So the good Lord gave the idea of Ntungo Noble to respond to the needs of the people of Mwambezi village.

To ensure that its efforts yield impactful results, Ntungo Noble adopted Mwambezi village as its primary focus. Nevertheless, as resources allow, secondary focus is given to other villages in the vicinity, and elsewhere in Mbala District, on a case by case basis.

It is also encouraging and heartwarming to note that the work of Ntungo Noble Projects, Inc. is squarely in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. It is a humble response to the call for action to create a world free of poverty and hunger. And what a fulfilling experience it is to be directly involved. You too, can respond to the call and get involved.

The following scriptures inspired the thought and journey to start Ntungo Noble Projects:

Isaiah 58:6-11 "6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward. 9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: 11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."

Acts 20:35 "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Micah 6:8 "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

THE HEART OF NTUNGO NOBLE PROJECTS

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Ntungo Noble Projects was incorporated without share capital on February 9, 2017 as a Manitoba based nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing poverty relief for the people of Mwambezi Village in Zambia. Ntungo Noble’s work involves educating, training and mentoring the community and its members empowering them to stand on their own to overcome poverty in their lives and the community.

To this end, Ntungo Noble Projects:

1. Motivates and advises community leaders that they can achieve whatever they collectively set their minds to accomplish for the community.

In developing communities such as those in Zambia, opportunities for empowerment are there. But evidently there is lack of leadership to recognize these opportunities and organize people to develop them. Ntungo Noble plays a critical role of reminding community leaders of their responsibilities and supporting them to take action.

2. Advances community-guided empowerment and poverty relief programs.

The community-guided empowerment program involves training and mentoring individuals and the community in leadership development, construction trades skills and best farming practices for enhanced food production.

Community leaders are trained in visioning, project identification, planning, implementation and outcome maintenance. Participants in the leadership development program serve on the village governance council as well as various village committees, which include education, food security, health and housing.

Apprentices in the construction trades skills training program are involved in practicums to construct village amenities. Each group of learners is given a project to complete. This approach makes the youth interested in both leadership and construction trades skills.

3. Provides poverty relief programming that includes feeding early learners, helping with school supplies, uniforms and other clothing.

Ntungo Noble is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director supported by a number of volunteers both at head office and in the field.

His aunt got him from the village and brought him in to town where he was able to attend school. His escape of the circle of poverty at Mwambezi Village happened because of education.
