Ntungo Noble Projects was incorporated without share capital on February 9, 2017 as a Manitoba based nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing poverty relief for the people of Mwambezi Village in Zambia. Ntungo Noble’s work involves educating, training and mentoring the community and its members empowering them to stand on their own to overcome poverty in their lives and the community.
To this end, Ntungo Noble Projects:
1. Motivates and advises community leaders that they can achieve whatever they collectively set their minds to accomplish for the community.
In developing communities such as those in Zambia, opportunities for empowerment are there. But evidently there is lack of leadership to recognize these opportunities and organize people to develop them. Ntungo Noble plays a critical role of reminding community leaders of their responsibilities and supporting them to take action.
2. Advances community-guided empowerment and poverty relief programs.
The community-guided empowerment program involves training and mentoring individuals and the community in leadership development, construction trades skills and best farming practices for enhanced food production.
Community leaders are trained in visioning, project identification, planning, implementation and outcome maintenance. Participants in the leadership development program serve on the village governance council as well as various village committees, which include education, food security, health and housing.
Apprentices in the construction trades skills training program are involved in practicums to construct village amenities. Each group of learners is given a project to complete. This approach makes the youth interested in both leadership and construction trades skills.
3. Provides poverty relief programming that includes feeding early learners, helping with school supplies, uniforms and other clothing.
Because of poverty, some parents cannot afford breakfast or school supplies or school uniforms for children. Therefore, Ntungo Noble Projects helps out to ensure children attending school are not hungry and have their school needs.
GOVERNANCE
Ntungo Noble is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director supported by a number of volunteers both at head office and in the field.
